• Les bouchons lyonnais Garants de la tradition culinaire Lyonnaise
  • La Tête de Lard

    Owner : Bernard Yoann

La Tête de Lard is exactly the kind of bouchon you’re looking for, right in the heart of the Lyon’s 1st arrondissement. In a street that’s slightly hidden away, for 25 years it was a restaurant serving traditional cuisine before the current owners took over in 2009. The walls are hung with pictures of Lyon, while typical checked tablecloths and wooden benches make you feel at home right-away, and all set to enjoy a friendly meal. Owners Bernard and Yoann Blanc work in tandem, father welcoming the customers while son prepares the food. Having originally trained in the gastronomic tradition, once the chef had tried working in a bouchon he was hooked on cooking with local ‘terroir’ produce – for him, this kind of restaurant offers a chance to bring “the countryside to the city.” Yoann Blanc’s menu is hand written on a slate as it changes daily, but always offers a varied selection of delicious dishes including andouillette (chitterling sausage) in pastry, calf’s tongue in ravigote sauce, or Lyon’s famous quenelles. The bouchon also holds a special evening with live music when the Beaujolais Nouveau season comes around. Find this restaurant also on lyonresto.com
